On January 16, 2008 Ms. Mary Spencer walked into our hospital with two adult standard poodles which had been surrendered by the previous owner to a shelter in Ft. Worth.

This organization knew of Ms. Spencer's wish to try to help all animals and that she had a special interest in standard poodles. Ms. Spencer drove to Ft. Worth to get the dogs and when she received them it was a sad sight. Both dogs, Pricilla and Molly, were blind, had ear infections, severely matted hair coats and were malnourished.

Pricilla and Molly were treated for their ear infections, groomed and received blood tests to check for underlying maladies here at Rutherford. Ms. Spencer then took the dogs home and after a lot of tender love and care, located several other good Samaritans: Debbie L, who runs Southern Paws Standard Poodle and Small Breed Rescue in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Jennifer H in Tallulah, Louisiana.

Mary had the pets driven to Mississipi where the two dogs were given great care.

Pricilla and Molly have now found a permanent home in Montana at the Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary.
